Congress Smongress

As these are my thoughts and nothing more I will just put a disclaimer here *these words are my opinion and are based on the facts as I have disseminated them from multiple sources.

Deadlock in Congress. Who would have guessed? We know what needs to be done, the entire country knows what needs to be done. We know that the current state of the country is not designed for the less educated and foolhardy. Does that mean a less educated, foolhardy life is any less worthy of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? I do not believe our forefathers were intending on leaving out anyone. Nor do I believe our creation makes us any less valuable no matter our station in life. Yet we value parents less in this country than in most others. We penalize those that would get sick and push all to work as much as possible regardless of mental or physical health. We have historic low interest rates at the moment and there are many that worry we are borrowing too much. That we are pushing welfare programs that should be cut or never even allowed to be enacted in the first place. If there were ever a time to borrow money it is a time when interest rates are low. Property investors, as well as, any realtor will tell you right now is the time to buy a home. Know why? Low interest rates.

One of the beautiful freedoms we have as Americans is the ability to vote on spending bills and see how they affect the country. If they work we can expand on those programs and if they don’t work we try a new approach. How those bills get written and passed through the legislative process tends to depend on those that are in control of Congress and the House of Representatives. We the people vote for those to represent us and if we feel the job they are doing does not live up to our beliefs of them we have the opportunity to vote them out of office and replace them. In the terms of the presidency, we tend to flop back and forth every eight years. Giving each party a chance to prove that their method is working and should be expanded upon. Most actions can take years to have any qualitative results. This explains why the human infrastructure bill is pushing to provide 10 years of funding for programs meant to help bring many out of poverty and curb some of the emissions helping to fuel the increasing temperatures around the planet.

Maybe asking for 10 years of funding was a stretch given the fact that most political parties will only retain the White House for an average of two terms. Maybe the compromise is seven years. The numbers are quite large but it is going to take a large amount of change to get this country back to being the Superpower we have always been and need to be to help the citizens of the world see their potential. The sum would come to 2.45 Trillion and allow us to show the rest of the world that we care about everyone that calls themselves American regardless of education or status. More may be needed as we progress but we could take the next three to five years to see how these programs affect our morale as a country and what effect our climate changes provide to the world. If we are lucky we can get back to the belief that there is nothing greater than being American no matter if you were born that way or if you immigrated here like many of our ancestors. We will be able to show the world that our changes are helping to shape progress with the environment and push for others to pursue a similar path. A path where we recognize the Earth as not just a ball of dirt but as the Mother to us all and as such we should be treating her with the utmost respect.

Thank you to all who have taken the time to read this. I have much more to say on this matter and I could dissect the details of the bill and explain my take on each part and what we can hope to accomplish but I will leave it for another day.

May you find shade and water whenever it is needed.
